Tommo Fowler
He / Him
Director / Dramaturg
Tommo tries to make expansive, complex and irreverent theatre – wrestling with big questions and knotty contradictions, but always alive to the possibility for silliness. He loves work which invites the audience to imagine actively, integrating visual metaphor and theatricality with the written text as a jumping off point for story.
Tommo is the Literary Associate of the Women's Prize for Playwriting, has worked as a dramaturg at theatres including the Royal Court, and is co-founder of RoughHewn dramaturgy company (Olwen Wymark Award, Writers' Guild of Great Britain). As a director, he has made work at London's top fringe venues, collaborating with actors including Pearl Mackie and Harry Melling.
