Georgie Botham
She/Her
Director/Writer /Theatremaker/Dramaturg
For 16 years, Georgie thought she wanted to be an actor. Then she did a school project on Katie Mitchell, realised that women could direct, and never looked back. She has directed a messy mix from new writing to 20th century canon, from 50-seat studios to 600-seat playhouses, and co-wrote a musical amongst it all. She believes that the best pieces of art examine their own form, and that they are unpretentiously accessible. She has a particular interest in work that uses the non-naturalistic theatrical to explore complex themes, particularly stylised movement, and gig theatre. She graduated from Birkbeck in the inaugural class of MA Dramaturgy.
