We today announce two opportunities for local artists. The application process is now open for the new cohort of artists for The Bank and the Open Script Submission. Both schemes are designed to support and develop the creative work of local artists in their early-mid careers, with resource and knowledge from Sheffield Theatres.
Since opening in 2019, The Bank has been the home for artist development at Sheffield Theatres, hosting workshops, residencies and a supported artist scheme. An inaugural cohort of writers, directors and producers spent 20 months with the organisation, culminating in a showcase of their work. Now we welcomes applications for the next group of supported artists at The Bank.
We are looking for directors, writers, producers and creatives of other disciplines to form The Bank Cohort 2022. Successful applicants will receive support and development opportunities based on their discipline, with tailored mentoring from industry professionals working at Sheffield Theatres.
The application window is open now, and closes at 9am onMonday 13 December. Sessions for successful applicants will take place from January - December 2022.
Championing new writing, we are also welcoming applications from local creatives through the Open Script Submission. The scheme provides support for writers looking to develop their skills. Successful applicants are connected to Sheffield Theatres’ talent development opportunities, tailored support and connections with other talented voices. The application window is open now, and closes on Friday 17 December.
Also for local writers, we are holding a Script Report Writing Session on Wednesday 8 December, 6.30-8pm. The session will discuss the skill of report writing and the process of reviewing and sharing a script with other creative professionals.
