A number of new touring productions will be a welcomed to the Crucible, the Lyceum, and the Playhouse in late 2024, into 2025, including mesmerising ballet, spine-tingling hauntings and knock-out musical favourites.
In the Lyceum theatre:
Mergaliyev Classical Ballet's Swan Lake runs from Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 January 2025. Watch the timeless tale of Prince Siegfried falling in love with Odette, Queen of the Swans, only to be tricked into betraying her. The thrilling sight of a company of swans dancing to Tchaikovsky’s dramatic score, performed by a live orchestra, is one of the true delights of classical ballet.
The multi-award-winning production Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) storms back into the Lyceum from Tuesday 14 - Saturday 18 January 2025. Gosh almighty! The whip crackin' musical comedy classic Calamity Jane is a rollin' on over the plains to the Lyceum from Tuesday 10 – Saturday 14 June 2025. Based on the much-loved Doris Day movie, this plumb fancy new production stars the multi-award-winning West End actor and singer Carrie Hope Fletcher (Cinderella, Les Misérables) and includes the sure-fire classic songs The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), The Black Hills of Dakota, Just Blew in from the Windy City, and the Oscar-winning Secret Love.

Stung, the story of WASPIs (Women Against State Pension Inequality), runs from Monday 9 - Tuesday 10 September 2024. 1950s-born women always thought they would retire with a state pension on their 60th birthday like generations of women before them - how wrong they were! The Government moved the goal posts - not once, but twice - and these women bore the brunt. But you can’t keep a group of strong, determined women down for long… Join members of North Derbyshire WASPI on a roller-coaster of a ride in their quest for pension justice.
Looking For Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood has served up nostalgia, music and laughter across the UK since 2022. With the seal of approval from Victoria’s own colleagues, school-chums and admirers, this show is for fans of Victoria and for those yet to discover her to come together and relish her breath-taking wizardry with words. A brilliantly savage play about workplace bullying BULL returns to Sheffield from Thursday 16 - Saturday 18 January 2025, marking a decade since its Olivier-award winning transfer from Sheffield’s Playhouse to London’s Young Vic in 2015. Playwright Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster) was inspired to write his razor-sharp smash hit when watching a bullfight, and BULL offers ringside seats as three employees fight to keep their jobs.
Does My F**** Look Big in This? tackles sex education, validates sexual anxiety, and deals with sexual trauma while answering questions you’ve always been a little too embarrassed to ask. Explore the sexual world through spoken word, uncomfortable noises, an inflatable sex doll, (bad) singing, anxiety and a limerick. Playing on Wednesday 29 January 2025.
Endurance comes to the Playhouse from Friday 31 January – Saturday 1 February 2025. Jenni is not an athlete. Jenni has not done enough training. Jenni wants to perform a feat of endurance in real-time. She really wants to be able to run up hills and mountains. Since her mum is Bolivian, she's banking on her DNA containing Inca genes, which she hopes will mean that she will be sh*t hot at running up mountains. Naturally. In a heart-racing blend of dance, theatre, integrated creative captions, and an attempt at a sports spectacle, Endurance looks at how and why we endure.
Two brothers on a beach - their dad is dying, and their town is crumbling, while a figure made of driftwood stalks the shore at night. Driftwood, an inspiring story about hope, love and belonging, comes to the Playhouse from Friday 7 - Saturday 8 February 2025. ThickSkin and Pentabus join forces to present this moving play by Tim Foley (Bruntwood Prize Winner-Electric Rosary).

Experience the sheer power of Sheffield's own Community Gospel Choir! Their performance Lift Your Voice will be on Saturday 26 October 2024 in the Crucible. With their mesmerizing vocals and soul-stirring melodies, they captivate audiences like no other. Sheffield Community Gospel Choir is one of the best known and most well-loved Gospel Choirs in Yorkshire, founded in 2013 by Janine Dyer, who continues to lead and direct. Prepare to be moved by their inspiring messages and unforgettable performances.
Finally, the previously announced Sheffield Theatres Production A Streetcar Named Desire will go on sale alongside the newly announced shows. In the sultry back streets of 1940s New Orleans, fading Southern belle Blanche DuBois seeks solace with her estranged sister Stella. Blanche’s delicate sensibilities create instant suspicion in Stella’s unrestrained husband Stanley, as they collide in a struggle for Stella’s heart. As their simmering feud escalates, past truths begin to surface and both sisters must choose between fantasy and reality. Passions ignite and illusions are shattered in Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play. From Saturday 1 - Saturday 29 March 2025.
