Back in September, we launched a brand new Intergenerational Dementia Friendly Choir: Friends of the Seven Hills. This exciting opportunity brings together young people aged between 10-14 and people living with dementia, teaching songs in a friendly, communal environment.
The choir is free and meets weekly at the Crucible on Saturdays. Their final showcase performance will be on the Lyceum stage for an invited audience of friends and family on Saturday 12 November.
Long-term supporter of Sheffield Theatres, GRI Group, were the primary match-funder in Sheffield Theatres’ Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign last year, helping to raise over £60,000 in one week to support this brand new choir.
We are proud to be a dementia-friendly organisation and offer a programme of activities specially adapted to meet the needs of people living with dementia. From training actors to become Dementia Friends, to offering free singing workshops and hosting dementia-friendly performances, we aim to support people living with dementia to experience the joy of live theatre.
