This winter into spring 2025 will be a series of exciting touring productions at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse. Shows include the ferociously gripping BULL, the electrifying and unapologetic Punk Alley, the bold and hilariously candid Does My F**** Look Big in This?, the daring and courageous Endurance, and the deeply poignant Driftwood.
BULLopens the 2025 season, written by multi-award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett (Chariots of Fire). Brilliantly brutish, this acid-tongued play was originally performed at the Studio Theatre, Sheffield (now the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse) where it won the UK Theatre Award for Best New Play, and later won the 2015 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. Running from Thursday 16 – Saturday 18 January,BULL is an explosive insight into a corporate wrestling ring.as three employees fight to keep their jobs.
Punk Alley is a loud, wild, and unapologetic joyride of live punk music and high-energy dance, designed for all ages. Led by the guitar-wielding Lazurr Tuts, this world-famous punk band invites everyone to shout, sing, stomp, and celebrate self-expression. Punk Alley hits the Playhouse on Saturday 25 January with all performances Relaxed, Audio Described and including British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation throughout.
Sheffield Theatres’ Resident Artist, Bank Cohort and Young Company Alumni Eleanor May Blackburn brings the bold and unfiltered production Does My F**** Look Big in This?to the Playhouse. This bold and unfiltered production is fresh from a northern tour and the Edinburgh Fringe and is a hilarious exploration of sex education, sexual anxiety, and the questions we’re too embarrassed to ask. Join Ellie on Wednesday 29 January as she navigates awkward classroom encounters, tackles big topics with wit and honesty, and delivers a uniquely entertaining mix of spoken word, bad singing, inflatable props, and live Q&A. Age guidance 14+.
Enduranceis running at full speed, following a sell-out run at PUSH FESTIVAL 2021 and an acclaimed run at Battersea Arts Centre. Endurance is a heart-racing blend of dance, theatre, and sports spectacle, as Jenni explores what it takes to endure. Inspired by Bolivian/Aymaran warrior Bartolina Sisa and modern ultra-marathoners, the show delves into colonial legacies, resilience, and how we carry on when things get tough. Written, directed and performed by award winner and Bank Cohort Alumni Jenni Jackson, Endurance hits the stage Friday 31 January – Saturday 1 February.
An inspiring story of hope, love, and belonging, Driftwoodfollows two brothers grappling with their father’s decline, a crumbling town, and haunting mysteries on the shore of Seaton Carew. Presented by ThickSkin and Pentabus, written by Bruntwood Prize winner Tim Foley, this moving and visually striking production is directed by Elle While (Hamlet, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) and Neil Bettles (How Not To Drown). Driftwood was a finalist for the Offie’s Best Online Production and will be at the Playhouse from Friday 7 to Saturday 8 February.
