It is with deep sadness that we share news of the death of Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL, our Chair. Our sincere condolences are with Julie’s beloved family and our thoughts with all who knew her.
A highly influential, successful and respected businesswoman, Dame Julie made a huge impact on our region. Sharing her expertise and inspirational leadership, she worked with a vast range of private and voluntary sector organisations.
Julie became Chair of Sheffield Theatres in July 2024 and led the board of trustees with passion, encouragement and kindness, and we are so grateful for her contribution to our theatres, our city and our region.

Her passing is an immense loss to the theatres and the wider region. We will miss her terribly.”
