Together Too Festival
Sheffield Theatres welcomes you to Together Too: a programme of activity supporting creative projects across a number of local community groups in and around Sheffield.
Following the success of Together in the City in 2022, a number of community engagement projects have been progressing over the last few months, each developing different art forms with the aim to conclude with a sharing and celebration event on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 July in and around the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse. Through exhibitions, installations and workshops, we will create a celebratory community takeover across these two days.
All events will be drop-in and free to attend!
There will be origami and papercraft in the Crucible Kitchen on both days, plus live music on Saturday 29 June. The outdoor Crucible Canopy will be available for BBQ meals from Friday 28 July, 1pm-8pm and Saturday 29 July, 10am-8pm.

FRIDAY 28 JULY
Projects on Friday will explore Stories of the City, with creative activities for mature participation such as presentations from community theatre companies, writers’ groups and stand-up comedy, with sharing events scheduled at Sheffield Theatres from 1pm - 8.30pm.

2pm – 3pm | Side By Side Drama Group presents ‘A Life Around the World’ | A devised show that explores rituals and customs from around the world, spanning a human life. From birth rituals in Africa, to protests in Iran, this performance is the result of a group exploration looking at how we celebrate, how we create change, how we mark important events in different cultures and countries. |
4.30pm - 5pm | ‘The Monday Morning Lads’ - a new co-created play | Pull up a chair at the Norfolk Park & Arbourthorne Men's Group, as they crack jokes, check in and swap stories. The arrival of an unlikely newbie in a lanyard sets the group having to prove what they’re worth. This play has been co-developed with and is performed by the Monday Morning Lads. |
7.45pm - 8.30pm | Sheffield People’s Theatre Pocket Play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ | This pocket-sized version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, created by our fabulous Sheffield People’s Theatre, is a fun and fast-paced retelling of this Shakespearian classic, with the added flair of contemporary songs performed by our SPT choir, to help tell the story. Audio description and captioning will be available for this performance. |
Throughout the day, join us upstairs in our Adelphi Room for additional creative workshops!
