Romeo & Juliet – The Steel City Edition
A rock musical ‘Made in Sheffield’
Adapted from the Shakespeare by Charlotte Proctor
Shakespeare’s classic moves to Sheffield as two lovers from very different backgrounds seek romance and happiness.
Originally created and devised to help 21st century teenagers engage with the work of our greatest playwright, the show mixes Shakespeare’s words with the language and sounds of South Yorkshire and is located and rooted in the city we love.
The soundtrack pays homage to favourite local bands including Arctic Monkeys, Human League, Pulp, Def Leppard, Joe Cocker and Reverend & the Makers.
Romeo & Juliet – The Steel City Edition is irreverent, funny and sad.
The music and dancing are great and the young cast are amazing.
A hit at the 2011 Children’s festival, don’t miss out this year on a fantastic evening’s entertainment for star crossed lovers of all ages!

Crucible
The Crucible is the main producing venue in the Sheffield Theatres complex. On occasion, the Crucible hosts touring work. The Crucible is also the home of the annual World Snooker Championship.
The performance area is a thrust stage which extends into the auditorium, enabling the audience to watch the action on three sides. No member of the audience is ever further than 22 metres from the stage, and the sightlines are excellent, offering equality of experience across the auditorium.
